
Alvin, Texas is a growing city located in northern Brazoria County, about 25 miles southeast of Houston. Originally established in the late 1800s along the Santa Fe Railroad, Alvin was officially incorporated in 1893 and named after early settler Alvin Morgan. The city developed as an agricultural hub known for crops such as strawberries, figs, and pears, and later expanded with industries including rice farming and oil production.
Today, Alvin is home to more than 27,000 residents and offers a blend of small-town charm and convenient access to the greater Houston area. The community features local parks, schools, and Alvin Community College, while continuing to grow as a family-friendly destination in Southeast Texas.
